مشکلات و نابسامانی‌های زندگی زناشویی، پیامدهای منفی برای سلامت روانی و بدنی همسران به همراه دارد. هدف از پژوهش حاضر بررسی اثربخشی درمان مبتنی بر پذیرش بر تراز افسردگی و دردهای مزمن در زنان مورد همسر آزاری شهرستان گرگان است. این پژوهش آزمایشی و بر پایه طرح پیش‌آزمون- پس‌آزمون با گروه گواه انجام شد. جامعه آماری دربرگیرنده همه‌ زنان مورد همسر آزاری دارای پرونده در اداره بهزیستی و مراجعه‌کننده به مرکز خانه امن گرگان بود که از این میان به روش نمونه‌گیری در دسترس، 30 نفر انتخاب‌شده و با روش تصادفی ساده به دو گروه 15 نفری تقسیم شدند. ابزار پژوهش عبارت بودند از سیاهه افسردگی بک Beck, Steer, and Garbin (1988) و دردهای مزمن ون­کورف (Smith and Ryff  (1997. گروه آزمایش به مدت 8 جلسه 2 ساعته، برنامه آموزش مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد به‌صورت هفتگی را دریافت نموده و گروه گواه تا پایان پژوهش هیچ مداخله‌ای دریافت نکرد. داده‌های پژوهش حاضر با آزمون تحلیل کوواریانس مورد تجزیه‌وتحلیل قرار گرفت. یافته‌ها نشان داد که درمان مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد بر میزان افسردگی و دردهای مزمن زنان مورد همسر آزاری اثربخش است (001/0). بر اساس نتایج به‌دست‌آمده درمان مبتنی بر پذیرش و تعهد، می‌توانند باعث کاهش میزان افسردگی و دردهای مزمن زنان مورد همسر آزاری شوند.
