Marriage is one of the most important events in every person's life, which may also be associated with many conflicts among couples because of weakness in some skills. This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of marital life enrichment program education on balanced emotional empathy and responsibility of the couples. This is a quasi-experimental study with pre-test and post-test design with the control group. The statistical population of the study consisted of 100 couples referring to Torbat Heydariyeh Health Services Center during April to July 2017, of which 30 couples who had one of their wives received the lowest score in the questionnaires received, were randomly selected and invited from their husbands to attend the workshop. Fifteen subjects in the experimental group received marital Life Enrichment Program, and the control group did not receive any training. The data were collected using the Mehrabian and Epstein Emotional Empathy Questionnaire and California Responsibility Questionnaire and analyzed using analysis of variance and SPSS version 20. The results showed that after training, emotional empathy (P=0.000, F=120.95) and responsibility (P=0.000, F=44.83) in couples in the experimental group, compared with couples witch in the control group had increased significantly. The results of the study showed that the life enrichment program could be useful in increasing empathy and responsibility skills and thus reducing marital problems.
