Conflict and long strife between couples and tensions arising from it cause marital burnout and disruptions in family functioning. The purpose of this study was surveying the effect of cognitive behavioral couple therapy on marital conflicts and marital burnout. This is a semi-experimental study with pretest-posttest design along with a control group. The statistical population of the study consisted of teachers' couples in the Norabad city during the 2016 year. 64 people selected with Non-probable convenience sampling strategies among statistical populations, and randomly assigned into two groups of 32 people (each group of 16 couples). The experimental group couples participated in 12 intervention sessions, 75-minute weekly. The data collection tools were the couple burnout inventory of Pines (1996) and The marital conflict questionnaire of Sanai (2000). Data were analyzed by use analysis of.The results of this study showed that cognitive behavioral skills training effective on marital conflict (F=18.34, P= 0.001) and marital burnout (F= 18.11, P=0.001).According to the findings of this study, can be said that cognitive-behavioral therapy with changing the negative beliefs of couples and helping to prevent marital conflicts can cause reduced interpersonal distress and finally reduce marital burnout.
